What is Sand Play?
Sand Play is a therapeutic approach designed to help individuals express and process emotions that they may find difficult to verbalise. This simple yet powerful technique allows clients to use the sand and a variety of small world objects as tools to communicate what is happening inside their minds. Through this symbolic play, it provides a safe, non-judgmental space to visually map out thoughts and feelings that are otherwise hard to put into words.
The Process
During a typical Sand Play session, I invite you to play freely, without any interpretation or analysis from me. My aim is to provide a safe, non-intrusive space where you can process pain or trauma entirely at your own pace.
Why it Works
As there is no pressure to speak or explain your creations, your subconscious mind is free to take over. This safe environment allows deep-seated thoughts and feelings to surface naturally through symbolic play, making it easier to process complex emotions without feeling overwhelmed.
